  1. Prepare Ahead: Stock Up and Plan Recovery Time – Before the extraction, stock up on soft foods like yogurt, mashed potatoes, and smoothies. Take 2–3 days off work or school if possible. Arrange for someone to drive you home, especially if you’re under sedation.
  2. Follow Post-Op Instructions Religiously – Your dentist or oral surgeon will provide detailed aftercare instructions—follow them carefully. This includes: Bite on gauze to stop bleeding, Avoid spitting or rinsing forcefully for 24 hours (prevents dry socket), Take prescribed medication as directed.
